66 Clothing The Alf - 1966 World Cup Final Alf Ramsey Inspired - Mid Blue Training Monkey Jacket

We have wanted to do a version of this iconic track / training / monkey jacket for ages. We always wanted to get the detail right and do a really good job of it.

If you look at the images from the actual 66 final, you will notice Alf Ramsey and the coaching team wearing jackets like this. Notice the red, white and blue cuffs and collar. A lot of other reissues lean more towards the Brazil 1970 style with the many stripes, but we didn’t want that. We wanted ours to feel much closer to the 66 version.

The only thing we couldn’t do, for obvious reasons, is put an England crest on the chest.

This jacket is more than just a replica piece. I have worn the sample loads and I love the colour and fit. It has that clean blue look that works really well with jeans, cords, trainers etc. It is smart enough to wear out, but still feels like a proper casual jacket rather than fancy dress.

The material has a nice weight to it. Not flimsy, not bulky. It is lined, so it hangs well, and feels more like a jacket than a thin track top. The ribbed collar, cuffs and hem give it that proper old training jacket shape.

The inside pocket is perfect for a modern mobile, and the zipped pockets are great for change, keys, tickets etc. I wore mine whilst in Northern Spain and never felt like I was going to be pickpocketed, but knowing the pockets were secure made life easier.

Styling , literally this will go with loads, Jeans, Cord Mateos, An AceTee T-shirt (of course we are thinking world cup willie) , Fred Perry Polo etc
