This beautiful scarf has been made for us in Scotland using locally sourced lambswool. To say they are nice is an understatement.

The inspiration for this scarf comes from a jacket Paul wore in early 1982, likely just before "Town Called Malice" was released. We believe the photos might have been for a fan club poster, as some of the images were later used in posters.

It also appeared in a photo shoot for "Jackie" magazine. We have always loved the jacket, which seems to pay homage to a similar one worn by Kenney Jones of Small Faces. Since the jacket appears in several photo sessions, we assume it was one of Paul's favourites.

Getting the colours right was a challenge because all the available colour photos appear to have been "colorized". However, the technical team has done an incredible job recreating the pattern for the scarf and bringing it to life.

"Just Who is the 5 O'Clock Hero?" by The Jam is a song from their 1982 album The Gift, written by lead singer and guitarist Paul Weller. Though it was only released as a single in the Netherlands, Germany, and Australia, it reached the Top 10 on the UK Singles Chart through import sales alone, showcasing The Jam's popularity. The song is a nod to the working class, depicting the life of a person struggling to make ends meet. The "5 O'Clock Hero" refers to the everyday worker who finishes their shift at 5 PM, symbolizing the countless people who endure mundane, low-paying jobs. Weller’s lyrics express empathy for the hardships of working-class people, as well as admiration for their resilience. Musically, it has a post-punk and mod revival sound, characteristic of The Jam's work, blending sharp guitars with an infectious beat. This song resonated with fans who related to its themes of frustration and aspiration, encapsulating the socio-political consciousness that Paul Weller often infused into his lyrics.

Anyways we thought it would make a great scarf, and of course a great alternative to the 'Boy about Town' Size 165cm by 24cm Material Lambswool Made In Scotland
